Taco Seasoning

A quick, easy, and tasty taco seasoning you can throw together in minutes!

Morsels of Life - Taco Seasoning - A quick, easy, and tasty taco seasoning you can throw together in minutes!

I was talking to some friends about how to make meal prep faster or more efficient. One way to simplify meal prep is having some components pre-made. (Bisquick, Italian Dressing Seasoning, etc) I know it sounds obvious, but I'm thinking I can't be the only one scrambling at meal time? Please tell me I'm not!

If you're anything like me, you like "Mexican" flavors. Well, you're in luck today. We're making a cheap, easy, and flavorful taco seasoning! You'll know every component going in AND it's customizable to your preferences. For example, we're not huge fans of cumin. I know it adds a nice flavor, but I certainly don't want to easily identify the flavor. That's why you see so much of everything else and just a smidgen of cumin hanging around in the corner. If you like cumin, just add a bit more. :) I also didn't add any salt to the mix since I like to vary the amount depending on how I'm using the taco seasoning. You can add in salt to the mix or just add it to your final dish. :)

What's your favorite method to make meal prep go more smoothly?

  1. I love this idea. I also like how you didn't put salt in. The pre packaged ones are very high in sodium! Thanks so much for Linking up at Show Me Your Plaid Monday's!

  2. Thanks for hosting! I like adjusting the salt based on what I'm using the taco seasoning in since it's more flexible, so I left it out of the base seasoning. :)

  22. Want to make this to have on hand, but wondered how much do you use for a pound of ground beef?

  23. Hi Nancy!

Thanks for your question, Nancy. I usually use about a tablespoon per pound of ground beef. Since I don't add any salt to the mix, you may want to season to taste at the end. :)
