It's time for SRC again - such an exciting time! Each month, as part of the Secret Recipe Club, we're assigned another blog, and we get to pick a recipe from their blog to make. This month, I got Nicole's blog, I am a Honey Bee. And she's certainly got a variety of delicious eats. And some of them are even Whole30 compliant since she's done that too. I'm not sure if I'm ready for Whole30, but we're working our way there.
I'm loving the idea of making Grilled Cheese on a waffle iron. Looks like fun! I also debated making her Caprese Bites. Then I saw Watermelon Sorbet and wanted that too! Except I saw Honeydew Sorbet. Yes, please!
I'd been curious about making sorbet, and Nicole's recipe confirmed how easy it is to make! Although we're not quite up to doing a Whole30, we are in the middle of a month of no added sweeteners, so I didn't use any simple syrup. Fortunately, we got a ripe honeydew, so the Honeydew Sorbet still tasted sweet. Since I didn't add any additional sweetener, I added some gelatin so the sorbet wouldn't freeze into an icy brick. There's really no way to mess up this simple sorbet, although it is important to use a fresh and delicious honeydew. Since it's the ingredient that makes up the vast majority of the recipe, the flavor really shines through. Give it a try and see what you think! :)
