Basic Grilled Flounder

Thanks for joining us as we countdown to 2015 with 5 of YOUR favorite recipes this year! Today it’s time for #2 – Basic Grilled Flounder! This recipe goes way back - 4 years back! Back before I had step by step images and all that. Aside from being buried in the archives, I’m surprised this recipe made into the top 5. It’s not that this recipe tastes bad or anything. It’s just that it’s so simple! I'm thinking I should learn simplicity - it's certainly a theme in this year's most popular recipes. :)

Morsels of Life - Basic Grilled Flounder - Just your basic grilled flounder, flavored with Worcestershire sauce.

We recently got a George Foreman grill, and I thought it would be easy to use for making some flounder quickly. I can’t say I was very impressed, but cleanup was fairly easy. Maybe it’s my limited counter space, but I don’t quite think the amount of space a George Foreman takes up justifies the amount of benefit it provides. However, I will give it a few more tries to get a better feel for what it can do. It’s possible that the George Foreman is better for making burgers, but I think using a pan would have been significantly better for making this flounder. Aside from some difficulties with the George Foreman, this very basic grilled flounder was a very quick and easy seafood option. Just pour some Worcestershire sauce in with the flounder, let it marinate, and then cook. I thought that with the addition of the lemon juice, the fish tasted too acidic, but depending on your preferences, some could be squeezed on afterward.

  1. This sounds really good, We like flounder and we love using our George Foreman grill. It's great for rainy days when we can't get out to our gas grill outside. Thanks for sharing at Inspiration Thursday!

    1. I agree! So much faster and easier than setting up a grill outside, although the outside grill is tastier. :) Thanks for stopping by!

  2. We used to have a Foreman Grill, but I think we got rid of it. I'm not sure that we ever used it for fish, we mostly used it for chicken or burgers. I bet this would be great! Thanks for sharing on the Waste Less Wednesday Blog Hop!

    1. You could also just cook it in a pan, but the George Foreman will cook it faster. Hope you enjoy! :)
